Can you explain your method in three sentences? What do you do when the horse says no? May I watch you train another horse? What does the first week look like? What does success mean to you? How long does the process take and how do you measure progress? Do you involve the owner in the work?

Red flags

Promises in days instead of principles. Training behind closed doors. Solutions that always mean stronger equipment. A trainer who talks about the owner as the problem.

A good trainer teaches both horse and human. If after a month you do not understand more than before, you paid for transport, not training.
